Chapter 1: 1: A dead cat and a bored god

Born in the forest to a beautiful black cat with lush fur, Mau and his two other siblings lay with their mother. While his siblings suckled at their mother's nipples, Mau was too weak to do anything, let alone drink milk.

A feverish pain enveloped his entire body, making him weak and useless. His mother soon noticed this and, out of pity, decided to kill him. She picked up Mau by the neck and bit down hard.

A quick, sharp pain was felt in Mau's neck, and then he experienced a little relief, followed by a continued feeling of nothing as his spirit rose from his body. He was aware of his existence, yet somehow felt as if he wasn't even there. He didn't ponder it deeply because he lacked the ability to do so.

so he just assumed this was normal and let things continue as they had been. Not that he had any say in the matter, but he didn't know that, nor did he care.

He was just happy that the unpleasant feeling was gone. While he was looking at his body with a curious gaze because of the strange connection he felt to the small cat body below him, he could also feel as if something was looking at him as well. But it wasn't clear to him why he felt this or how he knew that someone was gazing at him. He just did, and that was enough for him. He didn't really think too deeply about it. Maybe they could help him.

He looked up in the direction he felt the stare with a curious gaze and soon felt as if he had caught their attention. .

How strange! What's wrong with this cat? It's very aware for something with such a short existence. How interesting! And its soul is quite big for something so small. Probably the case of its condition before its death. Oh! Did it recognize me observing it? Well, aren't you strange? That definitely shouldn't be possible for any being in this useless world.

I think I'm going to steal you from Miss Filina. She won't even notice. She hasn't taken a glance at you yet. It's not like she'll do much but send you to paradise. That would be boring. I want to see what would happen if I put you in a recent realm I've recently been forced to monitor.

I bet you'd last the next thousand years or so. I love watching cute little things struggle.

But, unfortunately, you have to go into something similar to your body in this world, or it'll cause unwanted attention. Let's see. Oh, that's it! Hahaha. Now, let's meet the little kitty before we shove it into this body.

As soon as Mau looked in the direction of whatever was looking at him, everything around him changed.

He was no longer looking at a dead kitty lying on the ground, surrounded by a dark forest and towering trees. He was now in a beautiful room full of crimson red furniture, with a ceiling that was at least 60 meters tall, and the room was as wide as 20 meters long. Is this even a room?

Soon, the cat heard a loud masculine voice calling for his attention. He then saw a very handsome man with barely any clothes, and what was there looked like a silky sheet only covering his lower body. On his neck was a wide range of very pretty jewelry with the color palette of reds and golds that went nicely with his bronzed skin. He was lying on a bed with a silly but frightening grin on his face.

Mau was intrigued by his colorful appearance and wanted to come closer, but didn't know how to move around. He was stuck suspended in the air like a ghost. Well, I guess he is a ghost. He doesn't know that though. He doesn't know what he is at all, honestly.

Hello little kitten I'm surprised you aren't scared out of your mind right now, but for someone who hasn't even lived, I guess that fear of death hasn't been instilled in you yet.

That will change. I've decided to make you my form of entertainment for the rest of my time observing the planet, the realm that you will soon belong to. I'm going to put you in a vessel better suited for your soul so you won't go dying on me again.

[Location beast forest].....

In a beautiful and colorful forest, a black cat-like creature that was 1 meter tall was laying down sleeping . Soon, right above the kitty, fell a transparent blue hollow kitten, the size of a toddler. It was Mau, falling at an abnormally fast pace.

"Looks like I'm falling. Hmm, this is strange. I seem different somehow. Well, who cares? I'm still dead," Mau thought to himself.

dead? I didn't know this word before."

As Mau was deep in thought, he soon crashed into the shadowy cat creature and sank into it. But it felt like he was being jammed in this thing against his will.

"Oww, this shit hurts. What is happening? It feels as if I'm merging with something, but what exactly? And why is it so painful? Am I going to die again? Is that possible? Ugh, this is really confusing. I guess I'll just have to endure it for now," he thought.

A dark purple glow could be seen coming from the black cat's body, and it started floating off the ground. It was 3 meters off the floor, and out of nowhere boom! An explosion of bright light appeared, and soon the body came crashing down to the floor with a loud thud.

After the purple light show came to an end, what could be seen on the ground was different from what was there before. It was a child no older than 6 with cat-like features: black ears, a long black tail, whiskers, sharp claws, along with bronzy-colored skin and dark purple eyes. "

Oww, that hurt! what's going on with my body? I thought that thing I was merging with looked more like my mother. Why do I look like this now? Is it because of that man? Whatever, I guess I should figure out where I am and maybe cover up these sensitive parts from the information that man shoved into me. I kinda resemble something here called a human.

Mau actually looked more like a Beastkin, the second race that inhabited the planet he was currently on. Believe it or not, this information was also something the shiny man gave Mau, but he wasn't able to naturally access all the information in his head. Some things he had to use a little more effort to understand. What did come naturally to him, though, was the knowledge of where he was and how to navigate it. This was due to the knowledge the Shadow Panther had.

From the information he received from the beast's brain, which he believed he merged with, Mau understood he was something called a Shadow Panther, or maybe he was something entirely new. Did this mean he had a new race name? Well, it really didn't matter. It would be easier if people thought he wasn't a monster so they wouldn't kill him.

Mau was currently in a place called the Beast Forest, named so for its abundance of magical beasts. The forest is divided into six tiers, with the sixth tier having the most sixth tier beasts, and every tier having the most beasts of its level. Mau found himself at the beginning of the second tier, which was the tier he used to belong to as a second tier beast. However, even though he was now only a first tier beast, he felt as strong as he did when he was a second tier beast

I don't know how that works, but I should probably go to the first tier because I don't really know how to fight, and I may just die here. Thought mau.

Mau then made his way to the first tier, which, believe it or not, was not going to be easy. Two big dog-like creatures that were four feet tall with golden fur were stalking him like prey because the aura he was giving off was intoxicating, and he would definitely be the meal they need to make them second tier beasts as they were already close. It's not looking good for Mau.
