Chapter 1: This Demon is Back!
When Ye Wen Xie opened his eyes he found that the sky was incomparably clear and blue. It was a beautiful shade of blue he had never seen before. On his face he felt a warm spring breeze blow across. He could hear the calm rustling of leaves among the wind.
Finally! After centuries of waiting he had finally succeeded in reviving!
He checked his palms. His skin was still a pale sickly white colour, but it was smooth and young. His body still had the same loose black robe he wore and silver embellishments near the long sleeves. He touched his black hair and put his hands to his face. As a final confirmation he stood and walked slowly towards the small spring in front of him. The spring was clear and tranquil, flowing slowly across.
In the water he saw a slightly distorted face. The face was handsome with sharp but delicate features. A pair of ink black eyes stared back.
He now confirmed that he was still in his original body. Not only that, his body had not aged at all in the last 800 years!
Ye Wen Xie looked around, taking in the surrounding greenery with a light smile.
This was a view that resembled a very rare time. It seemed that nature had truly prospered while he was away; a shame. But it also meant that times were flourishing now. Good. Perfect. The better the lives of the people here, the more they enjoyed their peace and loving, the more time they spent in this heaven—the more suffering he can bring them.
He was laughing quietly to himself when he suddenly felt a slight disturbance in the air. An arrow came flying forward at a speed invisible to the naked eye. Ye Wen Xie leaned away from the arrow slightly, narrowly dodging it. From this small movement, it looked almost like he hadn't moved and that the arrow merely missed.
"I missed, damn!" A gruff voice called out behind from the forest. Walking out from the shadows appeared a small adventures team. The man holding the bow from before stared warningly at the weirdly dressed young man in the centre. He scanned the man from up and down, a look of caution on his face.
"Hey, what are you doing in this dimensional rift? We are the only ones with rights to enter here." The man who shot the arrow asked. He didn't lower his raised wooden bow and continued to stand in an attacking position.
Ye Wen Xie looked blankly at the man.
Then he suddenly smiled.
"Good. You three can be my first test subjects."
Ye Wen Xie took a step forward. In just that one step, he had crossed the seven metres distance between himself and the adventure party. To the archer, it looked like the black robed man had suddenly teleported in front of him.
The archer cursed under his breath and threw the bow in the air.
"Shit!"
But it was too late. Despite his quick reflexes to adopt a defensive stance, his neck was already hit with a pale slender palm. Instantly, his whole head exploded. Blood, brain matter and flesh all released upon the impact. Blood landed on the faces of the remaining two adventures and Ye Wen Xie.
With blood dripping from the side of his face, he looked at the two remaining members and thought, 'seems like mana path interference and mana control still works, but the effect is noticeably worse. I have to get into close range now for them to work, sigh.'
With that he detonated the person's head who was standing the closest to him.
Bam!
Blood splattered all over the remaining member's head.
"Now, if you explain to me everything I ask, I'll let you live." He said to the shaking member while wiping some blood from his face.
The birds in the sky cawed and flew away. The air turned a bit colder as a cloud covered the sun and a shadow fell in place where they stood in the forest.
It seemed that in 800 years, Ye Wen Xie's personality had not changed in the slightest.
