Chapter 1: Goodbye Earth

Poltas didn't expect that by the end of his revenge he'd be lying in a pool of his own blood, slowly losing consciousness.

He was full of regrets. Had he known it'd end like this he would have changed his plan. Although those scumbags deserved to be killed after bullying his depressed sister to death, it was not okay for him to die with them.

Dying with them was a form of disrespect to his own life.

In his last few moments, he sincerely wished that someone would come save him.

Alas his wishful thoughts were not fulfilled, but unbeknownst to him, his determination for revenge had caught the attention of someone.

"Do you really want to use your wish for this Candidate?"

This inquiry from her supervising Transuniversal Officer brought her back from the dazed state.

"My time for choosing in this world has almost come to an end, if I do not choose now I'm afraid I'll have to return empty-handed."

The voice was laced with careful thought and a touch of sadness, hearing such words would make an average man willing to coax the being of light.

But the Officer was used to this. In her experience, Guardians had a tendency to appear as if they have been wronged, but in reality they all had scheming minds.

"Since you have selected this Candidate, please have a look at all the packages available for his transport to Floretia."

Nea, the guardian, nodded politely, but her misty eyes seemed to be saying otherwise. Looking at her blatant attempts to earn sympathy, the Officer felt perplexed before understanding the situation.

He came to the conclusion that she must be a poor guardian. She was not looking for a better candidate, but actually trying to find an affordable one. A half dead person with low extracurricular qualifications was probably the best she could take. But to still try and get a discount, she might not even have enough currency to take a dead man.

The Officer felt annoyed with her, but he had better feelings towards poor guardians rather than the rich trying to influence him, so he gave her a discount coupon.

With the 20% off discount coupon, Nea's eyes lit up like a volcano eruption.

"Thank you very much for your kindness, I will definitely leave a good review for you."

The Officer stomped his foot in anger at her words.

'What review? Our services are already a blessing, why would we take reviews from petty guardians'

Upon reaching the counter, Nea checked the packages and as expected they were all very bad and very expensive.

Basic Package: Candidate is transported in current condition to the universe of choice. No added benefits applied.

Classic Package: Candidate is transported in current condition to the universe of choice. Can choose one primary level skill at the cost of Candidate memory wipe.

Friendship Package: Candidate is transported in healthy condition to the universe of choice. No added benefits applied.

Deluxe Package: Candidate is transported in healthy condition to the universe of choice. Can choose one primary level skill at the cost of Candidate memory wipe.

Premium Package: Candidate is transported in healthy condition to the universe of choice. Can choose one primary skill at no cost.

Nea didn't dare to look beyond these packages. Overall there were about 30 packages to choose from. The only package she could afford was the basic one. The reason she had the option to choose now was due to the discount coupon.

The basic package was essentially useless for someone like her Candidate who was already on the verge of death. The Classic and Friendship Package were equally expensive but Nea was unsure if getting a primary level skill was worth it.

Primary level skills were strength, intellect, adaptability, charm and intuition.

Strength would make a person physically stronger. Intellect would allow a person to perceive hidden intentions of others and information from nature.

Adaptability helped assimilate the Candidate into the foreign Universe, making them aware of its culture, customs and languages. Charm was a very superficial skill to appeal to people but if used on the correct Candidate it would have a stronger impact than the secondary level skill, hypnosis. Intuition improved luck and survivability through any form of hardships.

Nea felt that intellect would be useful for her Candidate but permanent removal of memory was known to be problematic. And she did not want her Candidate to end up with a collapsed mind.

The Premium Package was very good but too expensive. So after a bit of consideration Nea picked the Friendship Package.

"Is that all? Would you like to try our add-ons?"

The person at the counter spoke monotonously, almost like a zombie. These words were probably said a lot during the job.

Unwilling to offend the person, Nea stared at the add-ons list. Even the cheapest add-on was more expensive than her entire package. Feeling attacked, Nea quickly declined the offer to try an add-on and paid with her money and coupon.

"We hope you had a satisfactory shopping experience at the Transuniversal Exchange Store.

And upon hearing these words her vision went black.
