That was humans found out aliens did exist and the central government reached out to the aliens on a peace treaty. The aliens provided knowledge about space travel and how they have stayed under the radar of humans because of humanity's primordial machines. and how there are other solar systems humans after learning technology started spreading to territories with dangerous extraterrestrial life forms beasts on earth were considered mild compared to other planets and unfriendly aliens were powers enough to destroy planets like flies and the existence of 'gods'. There are always threats in this new world, but the human race is still kind of weak but has the potential to be apex creatures.
