Chapter 1: Transmigration

I never thought life after death was possible. I hadn't had the imagination to do so. My father had always told me that he believed in reincarnation, but since there was no evidence to it, I didn't want to agree with my father.

I'd always been a reasonable and understanding person. I also was someone who trusted science. That's why I hadn't believed my father.

But now I realized that reincarnation, or at least transmigration, was real. It happened to me.

After I was shot in the head by a school shooter, who was a former student, I blacked out. My consciousness faded away fastly.

I didn't even feel the moment my body hit the ground anymore. Everything went numb after the bullet had pierced through my head.

After I died a vast nothingness encased me. It was too dark to see anything and I was still numb. I couldn't move, couldn't do nothing. I just floated in the blackness.

Soon I saw little light dots around me. Unfortunately they weren't bright enough to light up the darkness.

I didn't know what happened, but I quickly had the idea that it must be my soul that flew through some kind of space. At first I wanted to laugh at myself for such a stupid thought. But after thorough questioning and analyzing of my situation, I didn't come up with another theory. After all, I was certain that I was dead.

It also looked quite similar to the reincarnation novels I'd read.

Then I just waited. And I waited. I felt as if weeks and months went by, maybe even a year. I believed my sense of time had deteriorated, since I had nothing to do except waiting.

Even so, after a long time, suddenly my body was being pulled by something. My speed increased every second.

The once little light dots became bigger, until they grew to an astonishing size. I thought I knew what they were. I had seen pictures of our solar system before, among them one of the sun. These massive balls of light looked exactly like it.

He wanted to examine them further, but the force pulling was too strong. Immediately after arriving at those stars, I departed again at an insane speed.

After quite some time, I suddenly saw planets. Some seemed to be similar to earth, others were inhabitable.

I wondered one thing though. If even reincarnation was possible, could it be that there were other forms of life out there? And if that hypothesis was correct, could it be that they didn't need water or air to survive, like science had told everyone?

Various thoughts were swirling around in my head. Perhaps they wouldn't be answered in the future, but maybe they would.

I quickly approached one of the planets. It looked inhabitable. I directly flew at it. I was scared. Scared that I would crash into it. I closed my eyes.

---

I laid in my bed. I couldn't sleep. Or should I say I wasn't able to sleep? It was just impossible for me. I was a god and gods don't need sleep. It was the same for eating and drinking. They do not need any of the, for humans, necessary things.

I was still happy about my success in reaching the Heavenly God Realm some time ago. I didn't know when exactly, since for us gods time flies by very fast.

The other five gods were in the Supreme God Realm, one realm under the Heavenly God Realm. We six were the only ones in the entire history of the universe to reach those heights.

I am also the originator of the universe. I had created it billions of years back. I was the God of Darkness. Everything that surrounds us was made of darkness at the very beginning. Only then did I form five humans. They were ordinary at first, but I taught them everything I knew and soon, I assigned them as the gods that were allowed to rule by my side. They were:

1. The God of Light: He was the first human I've ever materialized and also the most powerful of the five gods. He is responsible for the light which should compete with the darkness I created and bring light into it.

2. The God of Earth: He is the one to create planets and grounds to live on. Without him, there were no planets at all.

3. The God of Fire: He is responsible for the warmth of the places the God of Light had created. He would heat up stars and also flames.

4. The Goddess of Wind: The first female I've created. She manages the atmospheres of the planets and the weather on them. She works together with the fifth god.

5. The Goddess of Water: She helps the Goddess of Wind to create the weather, rain and snow. She also determines the location of rivers, lakes, seas and oceans.

I assigned each of them to exactly one element. That's why we were all called elemental gods.

I looked at the door. I heard a weird noise. It was something like a whistle, a shrill tone. I could sense someone. Their presence was moving really fast and directly into my direction.

I immediately stood up, being alarmed. I slowly opened the door. I couldn't react, as suddenly a white ray shot down from the sky. It was like a comet, but I couldn't make out what exactly it was.

It flew at me. When the impact occurred, I was flung backwards. After hundreds of kilometres, I stopped and landed on my back.

What was that? There wasn't an explosion or anything.

I could barely even stand up again. I staggered around. My head started to hurt. But why? Normally I would be resistant to headaches, so why did it hurt?

Suddenly memories began pouring into my mind. They were of a young boy. He had been killed in an unfortunate incident.

How could that be? How can a soul dominate mine? The soul that was transported to me, was dominating my own right now. It tried to push it back and seize the upper hand. It became stronger every passing moment. I couldn't resist anymore.

The soul flowed inside me. I felt good, but soon darkness, the thing I had created, slowly encased me.

The only thing I was able to mutter, before fading away was: "How could this be?"

I would not give up. I will try to take my body back, no matter what.
