Chapter 1: Chapter 1 : How We First Met
"hey Zeke!" I ran over to give him a hug but he just looked at me and gave a cold looking stare.
"what do you want and hands off me." Zeke asked, making me let go and step away, giving him some personal space. "i told you to not talk to me when we're in school."
"sorry...do you wanna have lunch with me?" I smiled and asked, hoping that he would agree to have lunch with me for once but Zeke grabbed me by the neck tightly.
"just because we're soulmates doesn't mean i love you, so stop trying to get along with me." He let go, pushing me harshly onto the ground before leaving me alone on the floor of the hallway. I sighed, standing up before smiling and walked off to find my friend, Millie instead.

I went up to the rooftop and sat down at the benches, thinking about what happened before all this things.

I stood around the living room, waiting for the guests to go. "hello, im Clover~" I turned to the girl and looked at her, i didn't know when did the girl came into the living room.
"what? are you one of the guests my dad invited over?" I asked still staring at her with no interest.
"Yea and um...I'm your soulmate." Clover smiled, showing her eye symbol and colour to me. I stared at her in disbelief shown clearly on my face, "hah, what? my parents found me my soulmate already?" just then my father walked into the living room.
"oh i see you both have already met each other and didn't i tell you to dress more formally?" My father stared at me, I looked at Clover and looked away.
"she looks weak like anything could just break her." Clover looked at me and just smiled, she didn't say anything. Clover probably knew I didn't really like her that much from how I'm acting now.
"Don't say that Zeke! whether you like it or not, she's ur soulmate, just spend more time with her and you'll get to like her. any questions?"
"yea I do, what if I don't love my soulmate?" I asked, my father sighed and looked at me.
"well most soulmates marry each other but you can marry another person if you don't love one another." I saw Clover frowned upon hearing that, glancing over at me.
"if there's nothing else, I'll get going, you two have fun."

"tsk...how bothersome."

"i told you not to hang out with him right, your father just wants you to marry him not get along with him..." Millie said, I could tell that she was worried for me since she knew things about me that other people don't know or see.
"but i just want to get to know him and maybe we can work things out..." I gave a sad smile making Millie frown.
"what?"
"you don't have to force yourself to smile Clover, if it hurts just say it...i don't want the same things to happen to you again..." Millie gave me a tight hug, I hugged back and sighed. I knew exactly what Millie was referring to but it didn't scare me one bit. I have to be strong.
"i'll be fine-"
"that's what you said the other time and what happened?! you came to school the next day with bruises on your arms!" I was cut off by Millie yelling at me, breaking the hug. I looked at her and sighed, thinking back at the incident made my smile fade away.
"let's forget about it and lets go for lunch before it ends okay~?" I patted Millie's shoulders to calm her down and pulled her to the cafeteria.
We both went to the cafeteria and got a table for ourselves. Millie went to get some things for us to eat and came back shortly after.
"here your cookie and milk." Millie gave me my food and took hers.
"Thank you Millie! hmmm anyways, how's you and-" I got cut off when Millies soulmate lover, Kevin came and hugged her.
"ah! don't do that, you scared me!" Millie scolded Kevin and looked away.
"I'm sorry~" Kevin gave Millie a peck on the cheek making her blush. There was me, feeling like a third wheel. How i wish I could be like that with Zeke...
"hey Clover! How are you?" Kevin asked, finally noticing that I was there with Millie.
"ah I'm fine thank you." I gave a warm smile, munching on my cookie quietly.
"Well I'll get going to the basketball court to play with my friends, I'll see you later!" Kevin gave a peck to Millie on the cheek again before waving to us.
"I'm sorry about him. He just comes and goes like that..."
"it's okay~ at least you have a loving soulmate like him..." I smiled.
"hey, Zeke will come to open up to you one day and love you but seriously he needs to change up his attitude a little." Millie complained angrily, making me chuckle.
♡ during lesson ♡
I entered my class, Millie had different classes from me. I sat at the back of the class with Zeke, I sat down quietly besides him, we both never talked at all in classes other than times where we had to discuss things with each other.
"Okay for today, I want you all to partner up with the person besides you and I challenge you all to see if you guys can grow a plant and keep it alive for two weeks without letting it wither." Our science teacher, Mr Lim, went down the tables, giving each pair a small potted plant. I took the plant and looked at it.
"If you manage to keep it alive, we will see how tall and healthy your plants are and give you points, this will be included into the class awards for this month." I listened attentively and touched the small sprout, eyes gleaming with excitement.
"okay class is over!" Everyone greeted the teacher a goodbye before some leaving the class for their other lessons. Zeke and I stayed in the same class since we had English next.
"hey Zeke, can I leave the plant at your house and take care of it there instead~?" I softly asked, looking at him. Zeke looked at me with his usual cold eyes.
"whatever."
"thank you Zeke~!" I gave a big smile to him before turning and looking back at the little plant. I put the plant safely on the floor beside my seat, then continued focusing for my lesson.
♡ after lessons ♡
"bye, see you later Zeke~!" I waved as Zeke walked out of class without looking back nor saying bye to me. I sighed, packing my things and taking the plant with me as I walked out the class. I walked to the front of the school, meeting up with Millie.
"why do you have a potted plant with you..." Millie asked, looking weirdly at the me, holding the potted plant in my hands, hugging it close to me.
"oh my science teacher gave it to every pair in the class to take care of this little plant." I happily said, smiling at the small plant. I liked the nature, flowers and animals. It cools my stress and anxieties along with her worries.
"so who did you pair up with?"
"We had to pair up with our seat mate and i paired up with Zeke!" I replied but Millie gave a straight face. Millie sighed.
"If he does anything to you, I swear I'm gonna beat him up."
"okay okay, let's get going home. You should head home too." I pointed out, trying to cool Millie. Millie nodded.
"Should I walk with you home?" Millie asked but I shook her head, I didn't want to bother her much.
"It's fine, I can get home myself~ I'll be fine." I assured Millie. She has always been there for me, cheering me up, making sure that I'm okay. She was like a big sister to me.
"Fine, stay safe okay? Then I'll see you tomorrow!" I nodded, waving to Millie before walking my way home. On the way home, I stopped by a nearby mart, getting some sweets to chew on.
I walked a few more minutes before arriving outside my doorstep. I sighed, looking at the house, not wanting to open the door and go in. I hesitated, my hands already on the door knob, taking a deep breath out, I opened the door and went in...
