Synopsis
Alexis is an ordinary girl with a normal life until she encounters a prince and discovers a bewildering secret. Now Alexis Parker is a mess or shall I say her life is a big, steaming, filled to the brim, kind of mess. This is the journey of a teenage girl who is left with no other choice but to move out of her comfort zone, out of the place she calls home and out into the strange unusual world if she wants to learn the truth about who she really is. Chapter 1: Prologue
My whole life's been built on a lie, none of it was ever supposed to have happened the way it did.
I read somewhere once that opening lines are tough, they are the hook you use to reel in readers. In the span of just a sentence or two, I must convince readers that my story is worth their time. Well, it is and here's a few reasons why:
1. Think about everything you could possibly hope for in a story, now multiply that with two and then you get my story.
An exaggeration you say? Eh, possibly.
But go big or go home right? And as of now I have no idea where my home is so that leaves me with going big so that's what I'll do and so I may as well go ahead and apologize for it in advance.
2. I am going to pull a Percy (that is to say I'll quote Percy Jackson) and here's how:
"Look, I didn't want to be a princess.
If you're reading this because you think you might be one, my advice is: close this book right now. Believe whatever lie your mom or dad told you about your birth, and try to lead a normal life.
Being a princess is dangerous. It's scary. If you're a normal kid and your parents are your real parents, I envy you for never having to go through any of this . But if you recognize some oddities in this book – if you feel the need to question your parentage – stop reading immediately. You might be like me. And once you know that, it's only a matter of time before they (paparazzi) sense it too, and they'll come for you.
Don't say I didn't warn you."
3. You'll be learning some important life skills during this journey. Now you may think, why are those important. Duh, so that you don't make the same mistakes some people in this story make.
4. If you're still reading this after, what can only be, more than 8 seconds then that means I have already managed to captivate you. How am I so sure? Fun fact: the human attention span is of 8 seconds which makes it even less than the nine-second attention span of an average goldfish.
5. If you read on, I promise to stop being so annoying (at least I'll try) and start making some sense (I hope for your sake that I will).

Jenna thinks I should promise that I'll try harder for the rest of the story. (See? How I casually threw my best friend's name in that sentence, that right there confirms that I can improve.)
