I really love to read historical novels as I am also writing one, but it starts in 300BC. Medieval England is a great settings and a lot of interesting things happened in that time. I advise you to watch Netflix's movie "The King". It shows 1400s, you can get some ideas from there about medieval period. I can't read this right now, but I'll be marking it in my library. Chapter 1: A Really Short Introduction
These ancillary chapter would be updated from time to time periodically as the story develops. Its main purpose is to introduce a better understanding of this novel so as not to lead the storyline astray. (It also helps for me to keep proper tabs on the story development. Hahaha. Poor me.)
I had decided to chop the previously whole introduction chapters into bite-size on hopes that readers would be able to easily identify them through this storyline.
It may not be as complex as it may seem, but as the story gets deeper, more characters would be added and if tabs were not being kept properly, it would create a whole pottage of characters.
This novel would be a slow grind (thanks to LucioOrdo for his comments) since its a mix of rag to riches and from a hut to an empire kind of storyline.
This is my first competition so far and I sincerely hope to get as many responses as possible through your kind reviews and comments.
Addendum — it got into Top 5, thankfully and currently being updated as its one of my current WIP.
Chapter comments, paragraph comments, or even a one-star review from any of you would be much welcomed.
